China: Boeing Delivers 100th 737-800BCF Aircraft

Yesterday, Boeing announced the delivery of the 100th aircraft of the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) project. Boeing said the conversion of the 100th 737-800BCF was completed by Shanghai Boeing Aviation Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (Boeing Shanghai), where the world's first 737-800BCF conversion line started in 2016.

Boeing Shanghai is one of five 737-800BCF global modification centers located in three countries, and a second modification line was added after the project was launched.

In addition, the aircraft's customer is the leasing company AerCap. It is reported that AerCap Cargo has leased the aircraft to Brazil’s Galle Air (GOL), which will operate the aircraft for a Latin American e-commerce company. AerCap Cargo now has the world's largest fleet of 737-800BCF aircraft, with 65 on firm order and 9 on select order.

Boeing data shows that the 737-800BCF reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions per ton of payload by 20% compared to the previous generation, allowing users to transport more payloads with less fuel. The in-service 737-800BCF fleet has flown more than 70,000 sorties with an average daily utilization rate of seven hours. So far, the 737-800BCF has received more than 250 orders and purchase intentions from more than 20 customers.
