China: Tesla responds to Model S Plaid delivery

Some domestic netizens posted the delivery information of their Tesla Model S Plaid version, and they need to pay the final payment of 1,013,990 yuan, including the 20,000 yuan deposit at the time of order, which is equivalent to the entire Model S Plaid. The price of the car is 1.03399 million yuan.

In addition to this, there are reports that the Tesla Model S Plaid will start deliveries by the end of 2022. In response, Tesla customer service responded: Model S and X have not yet determined the price, configuration, and delivery time, and it is impossible to deliver this year.

Tesla China’s official website has not given the price information of the Model S Plaid. Prior to this, the Model S Plaid was shown at 1,059,990 yuan, which was an increase from the price of 999,990 yuan at the beginning of the release.

The actual Model S Plaid has also appeared in China recently, and it may be making final preparations for delivery. In addition, yesterday Tesla Model S and Model X were listed in the latest batch of "New Energy Vehicle Models Exempted from Vehicle Purchase Tax", which may mean that Tesla has started domestic production.

According to the official introduction, the Model S Plaid is equipped with three drive motors and adopts four-wheel drive with a maximum power of more than 750kW (1020Ps), a 0-100km/h acceleration time of only 2.1 seconds, and a top speed of 322 km/h. Under EPA conditions, the cruising range reaches 628 kilometers.
