Elon Musk introduced the Tesla Cybertruck and a secret function

Elon Musk enjoys tweeting about new Tesla products and features. Sometimes they come true, appearing in the world precisely as they were portrayed. Other times, they merely stay in an exciting announcement that never came to pass. There's no knowing how Tesla's latest CEO announcement will turn out, but the concept is undoubtedly bizarre. Musk claims that the Tesla Cybertruck, which has yet to enter production despite being fully announced in 2019, will be "waterproof enough to briefly serve as a ship" How long will this last, you ask? Musk claims that the truck must be capable of crossing the channel between SpaceX's Starbase launch site and South Padre Island in southern Texas, a distance of around half a kilometer at its shortest.

It's worth noting that Musk isn't simply touting exceptional river fording skills, which are one of the key adaptability benefits of electric pickups like the Rivian R1T. Musk claims that the Cybertruck is not only waterproof enough to enter and traverse a river on its own, but it is also capable of floating "briefly" long enough for the truck to be employed as an amphibious vehicle. While amphibious vehicles and trucks are intrinsically awesome, semi-amphibious capabilities in a pickup that isn't created specifically for that purpose is a line no manufacturer has purposefully crossed.

This becomes an issue when paired with Tesla's growing trend of exaggerating the capabilities of its most promising and distinctive features. Musk is courting a group of purchasers who are already renowned for pushing the limits of technology with startling ineptitude by implying that the Cybertruck's wading proficiency has evolved to the point where it can float safely over minor streams. to demonstrate that it is being used safely to push your vehicles closer and closer to the boundary of what qualifies as "briefly" floating.

If something goes wrong, he adds the seeming bulletproof glass windows of and you have a whole new set of obstacles. Tesla had expected to begin Cybertruck deliveries in mid-2021, with RWD variants beginning at less than $40,000. Because it is already 2022, the business has pushed out the deadline until mid-2023. We'll have to wait and see whether these vehicles can genuinely operate as a boat for a short while.
