GAC Trumpchi released a new generation of its GS3 Shadow Speed SUV at the 20th Guangzhou International Auto Show, which opened on December 30. The company's goal with the new model is to "create a 100,000-yuan national SUV," or one that is affordable for the average consumer in China.
The new generation of GS3 Shadow Speed features a design language called "Star Diamond Lingying," which includes a front face with "Warrior Flying Wings" and "laser eye" split LED headlights. The SUV is also equipped with a third-generation 1.5T direct injection engine and a 7WDCT power system, which allows for fuel efficiency of just 6.18 liters per 100 kilometers.
In addition to the standard version of the GS3 Shadow Speed, GAC Trumpchi has also launched an R-Style version of the SUV, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 7.5 seconds.
In addition to the new generation of GS3 Shadow Speed and its first Xingling electric architecture model, GAC Trumpchi also showcased a series of user-created models at the Guangzhou International Auto Show, such as the GS8 Touring Edition and the GS4 PLUS Safari Edition. The company also displayed its future-oriented hydrogen energy concept car, called "Green Space SPACE."
GAC Trumpchi plans to increase its focus on new energy vehicles in the coming years, with the goal of fully embracing electrification. In 2022, the company will create a hybrid platform called "Julang Hybrid," and will release the Yingku Hybrid, Yingbao Hybrid, and M8 Grandmaster Series Hybrid in the coming years. These vehicles will feature a dual-engine system, covering the entire range of GAC Trumpchi's sedans, SUVs, and MPVs.
In the field of intelligence, GAC Trumpchi has announced that it will unveil its first model equipped with Protoss electronic and electrical architecture in 2023. This model will have a higher computing power, enabling a more complex vehicle-machine interaction system and higher-level intelligent driving functions.
