Honda Unveils Groundbreaking "0 Series" EV Concept Models at CES 2024

Honda has set the stage for a transformative era in the automotive industry with the world premiere of its "Honda 0 Series" at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. The global launch of this new electric vehicle (EV) series, slated to commence in 2026, includes the unveiling of two concept models, the Saloon and the Space-Hub, each embodying Honda's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and a new approach to EV development.

The "Honda 0 Series": A Symbol of Transformation

The Honda 0 Series represents a significant milestone in Honda's commitment to electrification and its dedication to realizing carbon neutrality by 2050. The series derives its name from Honda's resolve to go back to the starting point, creating entirely new EVs from "zero." The "M/M concept" (man maximum, machine minimum) will be a fundamental aspect, ensuring efficiency in vehicle design and maximizing space for occupants.

Global Rollout and Timeline

Starting in 2026, Honda plans to introduce the first model of the Honda 0 Series globally, starting in North America and subsequently reaching Japan, Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.

Thoughts behind the "0" (zero)

The number "0" signifies the origin and starting point of Honda's history, emphasizing the pursuit of the M/M concept, the joy of driving, and the freedom of mobility. It encapsulates Honda's commitment to creating new value and moving hearts through innovative thinking.

"Thin, Light, and Wise" Development Approach

The Honda 0 Series introduces a groundbreaking approach to EV development: "Thin, Light, and Wise." This philosophy aims to transcend the constraints of conventional EVs, focusing on a dedicated EV platform that is thin, a design that is light, and the integration of wise technologies for a smarter driving experience.

Five Core Values of Honda 0 Series EVs

The Honda 0 Series will be built on a dedicated EV architecture, offering five core values:

  1. Artistic design that evokes resonance: The design concept, "The Art of Resonance," seeks to create sustainable mobility products that resonate with the environment, society, and users.

  2. AD/ADAS for safety and peace of mind: Building on Honda's Level 3 automated driving technology, the 0 Series will feature an advanced driver-assistive system (ADAS) to ensure safety and peace of mind.

  3. A "space" for people made possible by IoT and connected technologies: Leveraging IoT and connected technologies, the 0 Series models aim to provide a fun and connected driving experience, learning user preferences and offering route guidance.

  4. The joy of driving with the feeling of oneness with the vehicle: Honda's original electrification and dynamics technologies will deliver a new era of driving pleasure, combining sporty performance with a sense of oneness with the vehicle.

  5. Outstanding electricity efficiency performance: Through advanced electrification technology, the 0 Series models will offer high electricity efficiency performance, addressing concerns about charging time and battery degradation.

Concept Models: Saloon and Space-Hub

The Saloon, as the flagship model, embodies the "Thin, Light, and Wise" approach, offering a low height, sporty styling, and an interior space that defies expectations. The Space-Hub, designed to augment people's daily lives, provides a flexible and connected space that resonates with users and the natural environment.

New H Mark for Next-Generation EVs

To mark the development of the next-generation EVs, Honda introduces a new H mark, symbolizing the company's commitment to transformation and constant pursuit of new challenges. This new H mark will adorn the next-generation EVs, including the Honda 0 Series models.
