Internal documents show that on Monday local time, Musk told Twitter employees that although Twitter is now private, employees can still continue to receive stock and options, which is a "continuous compensation plan.
According to Musk, Twitter's stock plan will be similar to SpaceX's and will let old shareholders sell their shares through stock issuance.
Musk is also the CEO of SpaceX, which remains private despite its more than 20-year history. It is reported that SpaceX employees will have two opportunities to receive stock each year, on May 15th and November 15th.
Musk told Twitter employees that top performers would receive a special amount of stock.
