Before 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, if employees do not do the above, they will receive three months of severance pay, which means they will be fired. Earlier, Musk had announced that Twitter would lay off 50% of its workforce of about 3,700 people.
Earlier today, Musk also said that the "Blue V" (Twitter Blue) certification will be restarted on November 29. This time around, Musk wants to make sure the service is rock solid. The paid service was launched on November 5, but quickly led to numerous false authentication issues, and Twitter subsequently suspended the service.
About 150,000 users were subscribed to Twitter Blue when it was suspended, less than 0.1% of the roughly 250 million people who use Twitter every day, people familiar with the matter said. These subscribers will only bring Twitter $14.4 million in revenue each year.
