Nintendo and V’s official tweets were impersonated

After Twitter launched the $8 Blue V certification payment, the official Twitter, including Nintendo, Valve, and other well-known companies, was impersonated by others. Before Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, which would independently verify and grant blue checkmarks to certain accounts, now for just $8, anyone can pay to have a blue check on their account checkmark without review.

So we can see such a spectacle, a certified account named "Nintendo of America (Nintendo of America)", posted a picture of Mario's middle finger.

Additionally, a verified account called Valve claims to be launching Ricochet: Neon Prime, the rumored next game for Valve, developed by Ice Frog and derived from Dota 2.

There is also a verified account called twitch announcing changes to the creator share revenue, these accounts are obviously fake, but the content is retweeted by many people.

To stop Blue V certification from causing confusion about which accounts are real, Twitter on Wednesday temporarily rolled out a new measure designed to help users distinguish Blue subscribers from accounts that have been verified as official accounts. Therefore, accounts that are verified as official will be marked with the "Official" label, which cannot be purchased.
