Pentagon Launches New Website to Track and Study UAPs

The Pentagon has unveiled a new website for reporting and learning about unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), which are now officially known as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). The website, AARO.mil, is still under development, but it already offers a wealth of information about UAPs, including:

  • Eight videos of UAPs that have been released by the Pentagon

  • Archives of congressional reports and briefings on UAPs

  • Press releases and other resources

The website also includes a section where current or former government employees, military personnel, and contractors can submit reports of UAP sightings. A secure reporting tool for the general public will be announced in coming months.

The Pentagon's decision to create a new website for UAPs is a sign that the issue is gaining attention and credibility at the highest levels of government. Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks has taken on direct oversight of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which is responsible for investigating UAPs.

"I believe that transparency is a critical component of AARO's work, and I am committed to sharing AARO's discoveries with Congress and the public, consistent with our responsibility to protect critical national defense and intelligence capabilities," Hicks said in a statement.

The website's launch comes at a time when there is growing public interest in UAPs. In recent years, there have been a number of high-profile reports of UAP sightings, including by military pilots. Some people believe that UAPs may be evidence of extraterrestrial life, while others believe that they are more likely to be advanced technology from other countries.

The Pentagon has said that it is committed to investigating all UAP sightings and determining their origin. The new website is a step in that direction, and it will be interesting to see what new information it reveals about these mysterious objects.

In addition to the new website, the Pentagon has also taken other steps to increase transparency about UAPs. In June 2021, the department released a report on UAPs that acknowledged that some of the sightings could not be explained by known aircraft or natural phenomena. The report also said that the Pentagon was taking steps to improve its ability to track and study UAPs.

The Pentagon's new focus on UAPs is a sign that the issue is being taken seriously by the government. The new website and other initiatives will help to increase public awareness of UAPs and to ensure that any potential threats are properly investigated.
