SAIC Motor's New Energy Vehicle Sales Reached 86,000 in June

SAIC Motor, China's largest automaker, announced on July 3 that its sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 86,000 in June, an increase of 13.1% from the previous month. In the second quarter of 2023, SAIC Motor sold more than 230,000 NEVs, an increase of 61.9% from the first quarter.

The strong sales of NEVs in June were driven by a number of factors, including the continued government support for the NEV industry, the increasing popularity of NEVs among consumers, and the improved product offerings of NEV manufacturers.

In June, SAIC Passenger Vehicles (including overseas bases) sold 32,000 NEVs, a year-on-year increase of 59.3%. Zhiji Automobile sold 2,007 units, achieving a substantial increase of 70%. SAIC Volkswagen sold more than 9,000 NEVs, while SAIC GM sold more than 9,100 NEVs, a year-on-year increase of 70.1%. SAIC-GM-Wuling sold 31,000 NEVs and nearly 20,000 Wuling Bingo.

The following are some of the best-selling NEV models from SAIC Motor in June:

  • Feifan F7: 2,336 units

  • Wuling Hongguang Mini EV: 19,118 units

  • Zhiji LS7: 1,948 units

  • Roewe i5: 1,852 units

  • MG ZS: 1,794 units

SAIC Motor is committed to the development of NEVs and has set a goal of selling 500,000 NEVs in 2023. The company is confident that it will achieve this goal by continuing to introduce new and innovative NEV models, expanding its NEV sales network, and providing better after-sales services.
