Tesla FSD Beta Update to Include Option for Advanced Users to Turn Off Steering Wheel Reminders

Tesla FSD Beta, the company's fully-automated driving function, will be receiving an update in January to address a common complaint from users. When the assisted driving system is activated, many users have found that the frequent steering wheel prompts can be quite annoying.

In response to this feedback, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the company will be making adjustments in the upcoming update. One suggestion from a user was to replace the "nag" with Tesla Vision, which utilizes the car's camera to ensure that the driver is paying attention to the road while the assistance is turned on.

In addition to the changes to the steering wheel prompts, it was also announced that advanced users who have driven more than 10,000 miles with the FSD Beta will have the option to turn off the steering wheel reminder function. Musk stated that he supports this option and it will be included in the update.

However, it's important to note that not all FSD Beta-compatible vehicles will receive this feature update. Only those with an in-car camera will be able to access it, which means that older Model S and Model X vehicles may not see any changes.

Currently, the FSD Beta version of Tesla's autonomous driving function can be purchased for $15,000 and includes all features of Autopilot, such as the ability to recognize and respond to traffic lights and stop signs, automatic assisted navigation driving, automatic assisted lane changes, and automatic parking. However, it is still necessary for the driver to remain actively engaged and the vehicle cannot be driven fully automatically.
