Tesla will deliver Semi electric truck to Pepsi on December 1

According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk's latest tweet, Tesla has begun production of its long-awaited Semi electric truck and plans to start selling it to Pepsi on December 1. The soft drink company placed an order for 100 electric haulers in December 2017, just a month after the Semi truck was released.

Tesla has promised that the Semi truck can go from 0 to 60 mph in 20 seconds even when "fully loaded" and maintain "highway speed even on steep grades" horizontal speed". Tesla also claims that the Semi truck can be charged to 70 percent in 30 minutes. According to Musk, the truck is "very fun to drive."

There was relatively little news about this car before this year. Then in May of this year, Tesla began accepting semi-truck reservations and charged a deposit of $20,000. In August of this year, Musk said that the version of the Semi truck with a range of 500 miles (about 804.67 kilometers) will start delivering this year.

While Tesla has fulfilled Musk's recent Semi truck delivery promise this time around, the company is known for regularly delaying the launch of its products. Its electric pickup, the Cybertruck, has been delayed several times, and Musk recently said the car is expected to be delivered in 2023. There's also the second-generation Roadster electric sports car, which was released alongside the Semi truck and was originally slated for 2020, before being pushed back to 2022, and it's unclear exactly when the car will hit the market. Then there's Tesla's fully self-driving technology, which Musk has promised for years is not far away, a feature that's still in beta.
