Microsoft unveiled Windows 11 three months ago, on June 24, and has not yet been released. Nevertheless, the new Microsoft operating system is already installed on more than 1% of PCs worldwide.
This is evidenced by the statistics of AdDuplex as of September 27, 2021. The test version of Windows 11 (Insiders) has already gained a share of 1.3%. At the end of July, the share of Windows 11 (Insiders) was 0.9%. Over the past two months, the OS has overcome the psychologically important milestone of 1%. For comparison: test versions of Windows 10 (Insiders) have a 0.3% share.
The most prevalent version of Windows right now is Windows 10 21H1, also known as Windows 10 May 2021 Update (May 2021 Update), with a 38.1% market share. In second place is the Windows 10 20H2 update released in Fall 2020, with a market share of 36.1%. The third place was taken by Windows 10 2004 (May 2020) with 14.5%. In total, AdDuplex statistics take into account about 60 thousand Windows-based PCs around the world.
