Third-party app stores and browsers are coming to the Microsoft Store

Microsoft has announced good news for Windows users. The new Microsoft Store rules now allow third-party app stores and browsers with third-party engines to be hosted there.

Among the first partners the Amazon Appstore, promised even with the announcement of Windows 11, and not only. Microsoft has also announced the Epic Games Store will appear in the coming months. It is noted that Microsoft will not demand its share of sales through these stores. There are no mentions of popular platforms like Steam and GOG yet.

Also relaxed restrictions on browsers. As a result, Microsoft begins to offer alternatives to Microsoft Edge: Opera and Yandex Browser.

The appearance of such products in the Microsoft Store means a simplified installation for Windows users - they no longer need to search for them on the Internet.
