Valve to Unblock Counter-Strike 2 Accounts Banned Due to AMD Anti-Lag+

Valve has announced that it will begin to unblock Counter-Strike 2 accounts that were banned due to the AMD Anti-Lag+ function. The function was introduced in the Adrenalin 23.10.1 driver, but it was later discovered that it could cause players to be banned. AMD has since released a new driver that disables the function, and Valve has updated Counter-Strike 2 to ensure that players with the Adrenalin 23.10.1 driver cannot enter the game.

Valve has stated that it will gradually revoke the VAC bans of affected users. However, it is not clear how long this process will take. Players who have been banned can submit a support ticket to Valve to request that their ban be lifted.

It is important to note that AMD's Anti-Lag+ function was implemented by bypassing the engine.dll function. This is considered cheating by the game and will result in a VAC ban.

NVIDIA's own NVIDIA Reflex technology also supports Counter-Strike 2. However, it is important to note that NVIDIA Reflex does not tamper with the game code and does not require players to disable any game features. Therefore, using NVIDIA Reflex will not result in a VAC ban.

How to avoid being banned for using AMD Anti-Lag+?

If you are an AMD user, you should avoid using the Anti-Lag+ function in Counter-Strike 2. To disable the function, follow these steps:

  1. Open the AMD Adrenaline Edition software.

  2. Click on the "Gaming" tab.

  3. Select Counter-Strike 2 from the list of games.

  4. Under the "Global" section, scroll down to the "Anti-Lag" option.

  5. Set the "Anti-Lag" option to "Off".

If you have already been banned for using the AMD Anti-Lag+ function, you can submit a support ticket to Valve to request that your ban be lifted. However, it is not clear how long this process will take.
