ZTE becomes first company in China to obtain POSIX certification

Updated: Apr 18

ZTE Corporation, a global leader in telecommunications and information technology, has achieved a significant milestone in the automotive industry. The company’s ZTE Automotive OS V3.0 has received the POSIX specification PSE52 Realtime Controller 1003.13-2003 System certification, making them the first company in China to do so.

POSIX, short for “Portable Operating System Interface,” is a set of guidelines set by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). These guidelines aim to simplify cross-platform software development for operating system vendors. POSIX interfaces are widely used in IT infrastructure, from embedded systems to supercomputers, making this certification a significant achievement for ZTE Corporation.

Strong POSIX specification support is essential for a high functional safety level in automotive operating systems. With the increasing integration of technology in vehicles, having a robust and reliable operating system is crucial. The POSIX certification ensures that ZTE’s Automotive OS V3.0 meets these high standards, providing a safe and efficient system for automotive applications.

With ZTE’s micro-kernel operating system for vehicles passing this certification, middleware and applications related to intelligent connected vehicles can run faster and more stably on their system. This efficiency reduces software development and transplantation costs, ultimately shortening development and listing cycles.

This achievement not only positions ZTE Corporation as a leader in the automotive technology industry but also paves the way for the development of more advanced and reliable automotive systems. The certification is a testament to ZTE’s commitment to quality and innovation, reinforcing their position as a pioneer in the industry.
